Programs and Services

In conjunction with the American Cancer Society, we provide the following programs and services at our Center:

Look Good... Feel Better

Look Good...Feel Better program is a community-based, free, national service that teaches female cancer patients beauty techniques to help restore their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Licensed cosmetologists voluntarily lead small groups, usually consisting of 6 to 10 women, through practical, hands-on experience. Women learn about makeup techniques, skincare, nail care, and options related to hair loss such as wigs, turbans, and scarves. Each group program participant receives a free kit of cosmetics for use during and after the workshop.

Man to Man: Prostate Cancer Support Group

In conjunction with the American Cancer Society, Central Florida Cancer Care Center offers Man to Man, a forum for men to learn about prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment options – as well as coping and everyday living – through interactive presentations and materials.

Health care professionals, typically medical doctors, in various fields related to prostate cancer share information on topics and quality of life issues. A comfortable and confidential meeting environment encourages men and their families to discuss their concerns openly and honestly and to share solutions to common problems.

Prostate Cancer is the most common type of cancer among men in the United States. Because new diagnosis and treatment methods are constantly being developed, patients need up-to-date and accurate information to help them decide about their course of treatment.

Man to Man provides an opportunity for men and their caregivers dealing with prostate cancer to talk openly with each other, as well as with health care professionals, about their concerns.

All meetings are held the second Thursday of the month, beginning at 6:15pm. Food and beverages are provided. Spouses and friends are welcome to attend.
